Are there any unusual problems with insects or other infestations in housing?
Mosquitoes can be bad, especially outside Caracas. There was a serious outbreak of chikungunya (similar to dengue fever) last year, which is spread by mosquitoes. - May 2015

Lots of mosquitoes and a recent rise in the chipo population. Mosquitoes carry dengue, and chipos carry mala chagas. Neither of which will kill you, but you're not going to feel so hot for a couple of weeks. - Sep 2010
