Bangkok - School Report Question and Answers

Are other schools available to expatriates in this city? Why did you choose this particular school?

There are many schools available in the city. There are also multiple St. Andrews schools, though they not affiliated with one another. St. Andrews 71 has two campuses. The high school is located within walking distance of the Phra Khanong BTS station. The primary school is located a bit off of the train line, but the school provides shuttles from the Gateway Ekkamai BTS station to the primary campus. We chose this particular school because it seemed very centered on the child. We had special education needs, and St. Andrews 71 was the only school willing to do the necessary testing to properly place our kids in the grades they needed to be in. They listened to us. - Aug 2023

Bangkok has many (40+) international Schools, many of them Tier 1. We chose ISB as it is located within the Nichada Thani neighborhood which makes it easier for our kids as they can bike to school every day. - Mar 2023

yes. Choose because housing is in Nichada Thani and school is located in this area. - Jan 2023

Yes, many. I liked their large curriculum and ECAs provided. I liked the caring teachers, large campus dedicated to Primary and buildings for each specific year group, open friendly school environment, multicultural and traditional school uniform environment. I really appreciated the good communication and frequent newsletters from the school. - Apr 2019

Yes, there are many other schools available. We chose this because it was fairly close to our home, was only for preschool ages children, so it has a small campus and very friendly staff and not at all intimidating. They also have a toddler playgroup that our children attended before they start formally at the school, so they were already familiar with the staff and campus. The rates are also fairly reasonable for Bangkok. - Jun 2018

There are many other schools available, however we choose NIST based on its location to our housing and because of high ratings from other embassy families and within the greater Bangkok educational community. - Jun 2018

The neighborhood. Children are able to ride their bikes around freely without concern. It was one of 2 schools that the Office of Overseas schools suggested. The other was downtown where we would be living in a high rise with 4 very active kids. We wanted our children to be able to go outside. - Sep 2013
