Doha - School Report Question and Answers
Please describe some of your child's/children's highlights and challenges during their time at this school.
Highlights- friends, the easy bus commute to and from the compound, great teachers, integrated lessons, great after-school options included in the tuition, good academics, good focus on values Challenges- it is hot part of the year and pollution can be high. One of my kids is more sensitive to it and it can make it harder to play outside during recess. I wish they had air purifiers in the classes. The school day is long for my kids but it is the typical American schedule. Lunches are only 20 minutes which is way too short in my mind. Also the cafeteria food isn't great as they keep changing companies but they are trying to improve. - Apr 2025
My child loved their Week Without Walls experiences in middle school! Sports and other activities tend to be viewed competitively, so a lot of times the same kids kept getting chosen for the teams, which can be frustrating. - Apr 2022
Challenges: Having to repeat 3rd grade math (in 3rd grade) even though he had previously completed 3rd grade common core math in 2nd grade. Having to go to Dubai for adequate educational testing. Highlights: Truly being with local children in their classes. Being in a very international environment. - Jul 2019
