Beijing - School Report Question and Answers

Please describe some of your child's/children's highlights and challenges during their time at this school.

My children have delighted in having classmates from all over the world and opportunities to try so many different activities. They have become leaders in their clubs and sports which is a fantastic opportunity for growth, as well as felt challenged and engaged in their academics. Another highlight is the relationships they have formed with their teachers. My graduate was so eager to go back and visit his teachers when he visited this year. COVID was a huge challenge, blocking and canceling, forcing us online, making everything unpredictable and China only opened up in January of 2023. - Jun 2023

Highlights - high schooler trying a sport for the first time and feeling pride and acceptance playing on the school team. My son having a big role in the school play and on the soccer team. My 6th grader confidently showing me around her school, surrounded by friendly faces and knowing she is challenged and accepted by her classmates and teachers. Touring the school (having had a USA public school education) and being impressed again and again with the design of every space. - Dec 2022

I feel at WAB our children are encouraged to grow in the direction of their choosing. They are embraced for being unique third culture kids and are encouraged to strengthen their love for learning. The biggest down side to WAB is that I’m not sure how any other school will measure up to their experience here. - Nov 2022

I am not sure they loved middle school but who does anywhere in the world?! They have really both come into their own in the high school. - Mar 2021
