Amman - School Report Question and Answers

What letter grade (ranging from A, excellent, to F, fail) would you assign to this school based on your overall experience? Would you choose it again?

C- - Feb 2021

A. Yep! - Sep 2019

A++++ King's Academy is an elite boarding school that draws from many areas of the globe. My daughter has classmates from both rich and poor areas of Jordan, Honduras, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Kuwait, the US, etc. It really is a "prep" school where parents become less and less involved, and the children become more and more independent. - Nov 2018

A+ ABSOLUTELY! I would recommend it to any American family looking for more of an international experience with a rigorous but welcoming and easy-to-understand curriculum. We would highly recommend from PK-8th grade (year 9), but we will transition to King's Academy (American system) for high school. I don't "not" recommend the high school, though. I think it's probably very good. - Feb 2018

A-. Some great teachers, a few not so great. Never felt like the Arabic program (required all years) was particularly well-structured or well-taught but that is not unique to Kings. Definitely fosters a culture of achievement and growth without becoming particularly competitive. Facilities are world-class. - Apr 2017

F. No, I would not choose this school again and I would not recommend it, particularly to parents with children who have different/ special needs. While the school has many wonderful teachers, the administration lacks effective communication and, in our opinion, integrity and professionalism. From our experience, there seems to be little to no oversight or accountability for decisions made by the administration, some of which seem to undermine the teachers and staff who work most closely with the students. - Aug 2016
