Bucharest - School Report Question and Answers

Would you choose this school again? Why?

No. We have asked for a transfer because we no longer believe our children can get the kind of education we want for them and unfortunately this is the best school in town. - Dec 2014

Yes and no. My daughter was very happy here. I might have chosen another small international school (InSPE) for its creative individualized and caring approach. BSB was very nice, but InSPE excels at teaching and engaging young children. - Jul 2013

No, unless I had no choice. After 4 years and being very involved at the school, I am still frustrated. The school is inconsistent. It needs a foundation and to set a standard. It feels like a place where people are reacting and not creating for the future. There are some gems in the school and I appreciate the administration and staff that have really tried to make a difference.Still, overall, it is like a school that lacks a soul and feels fake. - Oct 2011

Maybe not.Since I have experience with 9 schools between three children, I find it is difficult to judge the school because I think International schools change each time new teachers and administration is introduced. It can be better one year and worse the next.It is a combination of constant change in students and teachers. The way the school is now, I probably would consider another option.Another factor is that the school is in Romania. For example, the environment for learning is more relaxed than in those schools in Asia due to the local culture.I would probably hesitate to come to Romania based on what I've experienced. On the other hand, my 7th grader loves the school. My 11th grader tolerates the school, but does not wish to change at this point. - Jan 2011
