Do you have any recommendations regarding mobile phones? Did you keep your home-country plan or use a local provider?
Easy to find, I had a dual-SIM in my Google Fi phone which worked really well. Easy to top up as needed. - Oct 2023
We had dual sim iPhones and kept our US number with Google Fi and the local number with Vodaphone. Google fi is great (if you are not military or diplomats, then prolonged data use overseas will get your number shut off). Any of the local providers is fine, but Vodaphone is most folks preferred carrier. - Jan 2023

Cell phones are everywhere and almost all of the country has coverage. Athens is completely covered by both GSM 900 MHz and 1800MHz, so you will need a multi-band phone or buy one there. Smartphones are available, but expensive, and so are the rates. - Jul 2012
