Food is very expensive to buy at the grocery store and at restaurants. So, I think if you just eat rice, beans and local fruits and veggies you can do pretty well. We like American products, though, so we pay for them and it's expensive. The all-inclusive resorts are about $150 a person per night (children pay half). All of the services (cell, tv, internet, gyms, etc.) have American prices, so it is hard to save money in that respect. - Jun 2010
