Panama City - Post Report Question and Answers

Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?

I don't know about entry requirements, but I see lots of pets and there are good vets, from what I hear. - Dec 2021

Yes. - Oct 2018

Good vets, everybody has animals, just clean up behind your pets. There is a quarantine but you can get the government to let you do that in your home. Easy to bring pets in. Even if you come in during the middle of the night, the pets are sheltered in the airport until the next business day for a fee of maybe US$3 per day so that the government vet can look at them and confirm they look healthy. - Sep 2018

There are both great and really bad vets. Find one by referrals. - May 2017

Getting pets into Panama is a pain in the butt. There is a quarantine unless you are with the embassy, but even then it is still a pain. Once here, you will find good pet care and kennels. - Oct 2015
