Casablanca - Post Report Question and Answers
Are there any particular health concerns? What is the quality of available medical care? What medical conditions typically require medical evacuation?
Medical care is limited. If you have anything requiring any regular visits plan them in conjunction with your trips outside the country. - Sep 2022
Water should be treated before drinking, or buy bottled. Pharmacies are located everywhere and have anything you will mostly need basic care. COVID is here as anywhere else. Vaccins campaign are rolling and Morocco is very well organized. Local healthcare can treat most thing benign; you should medevac for anything major. - Jun 2021
No. Local health care is decent. - Feb 2016
Tap water in Casa is generally safe, but can have an off-taste. Filters are installed at all residences and bottled water is available at stores. Tap water is not safe in other parts of the country. Private hospitals are good, but for anything major, medevac to London/US. - Jul 2014
Medical care is OK I guess; private doctors are recommended by the Health Unit. The local pediatrician speaks fluent English and is American Board certified. But I would never want to get in a serious car accident here or have a serious condition. For any real health issues (or for maternity care) you are Medevaced to London or the States. The RSO is currently stationed in Rabat and comes to Casa twice a month or so and this is a real boon that cannot be understated. - May 2014
Decent doctors trained in France. Private hospitals are better than public clinics. - Jun 2012
The occasional stomach bug is present, if you aren't careful where you eat. Medical quality in Casablanca and Rabat is pretty good, but I wouldn't want to get sick or injured out in the boonies. Rabat has a nurse health practitioner and Casa has a local nurse. - Apr 2010
Medical care can be very good and medical staff are generally well-trained. Its not uncommon to get sick with a stomach ailment and people complain of respriatory problems. - Mar 2008
