What are some typical ways to socialize, either with local people or with other expatriates? Are there groups or clubs that you can recommend?

Bars, restaurants, and get togethers at peoples' homes. There are MeetUp groups and Internations events, but I didn't participate in either. - Dec 2020


Parents organizations, Association of Diplomats Stockholm, American Chamber of Commerce. - May 2020


Stockholm has a thriving nightlife, which singles take advantage of. Many people get together in small groups at home, as drinking and eating out a lot gets very expensive. - Jan 2017

Cross country skiing in the winter, running/swimming in the summer. Happy hours and strolls around the city. Entertaining at home. We've been a bit homebodyish, but there is a nightlife scene here. Bars and restaurants are plentiful but expensive. - Aug 2014
