Matamoros - Post Report Question and Answers

Is high-speed home Internet access available? How long does it typically take to install it after arrival?

No problems with internet. Every so often there would be an outage but generally good internet. - Aug 2021

Yes, two options, Post can set you up with either. We haven't had any issues and speed is fine. - Apr 2018

Yes, but high-speed in name and in reality are not always the same thing here in Mexico. Our internet was already installed when we arrived in our home. We spend 400 pesos a month for local phone and internet, so that is less than US$30. - Aug 2016

High-speed is relative, we were able to watch Netflix, it cuts out ocassionally, but was pretty good overall. I think I was paying about US$40 a month, you have to pay your bill though, otherwise they cut it off without notice...normally on Sunday nights and you have to run out and pay. - Aug 2015

Yes -- everyone uses Telmex. Average cost is about US$50/month for decent DSL speeds. You can pay in tiered plans to increase speed. - Feb 2012
