What kinds of gyms or other sports/workout facilities are available? Are they expensive?
Limited, but available. Most do not have air conditioning. Cost is around US$30 a month. - Sep 2016

The embassy has two small facilities and there are a few options on the local market. Elite fitness is the most popular, but the building does not have A/C. Additional the Fajara Golf Club has a variety of athletic options (tennis, pool, badmitten, golf, and raquetball. - Jun 2013
The embassy is trying to get a workout room together. There is a nice gym in town called Elite Fitness- they have classes and machines. The facility seems run down from time to time, but it works. Elite does not have AC so a work out is a good work out. The Sheraton gym has AC, but is small and not well kept. - Sep 2011
