Yes, depends on what you spend your money on. If you don't travel a lot, you can. New Zealand is somewhat isolated and unless you are single or as a couple, traveling in and out can be expensive for a family of 4 or more....It's a 3-year tour, and unless you have hobbies, you can become home-sick. No one from our family came to visit...too far to travel to. - Aug 2008
