What are some interesting/fun things to do in the area? Can you recommend any “hidden gems"?
Visit Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon) for restaurants and shopping. Visit old Roman aquqducts just outside the city. Day trip to Perouges -- preserved medieval village just outside of town. Walk by INTERPOL and pretend you're a spy (it's world headquarters are in Lyon). Take the funicular up to the Basilica of Fourviere for an amazing view of the city. Visit the Saturday and Sunday food markets along the rivers. Visit the textile museum -- Lyon is famous for it's textiles, especially silk. - Jun 2011
