Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?
Easy -- they are everywhere. Never used credit card there- the French have a type of dual credit and debit card ('carte bancaire' or CB)- it's very convenient. Credit card use is quite rare in France amongst French people. - Jun 2011
