Is this a good city for LGBT expatriates? Why or why not?

Not sure. But a friend who came to visit said that there is a gay-friendly hammam under a bridge somewhere, so there must be an active gay community. - Oct 2010
Depends on how you define "good" - there's a very different cultural perspective here - being "out" is not appreciated, but there's apparently a lot of action to be had with the understnding that a Turkish man who has same-sex relationships does not consider himself gay unless he eschews marriage and family and this almost never happens and would be a source of great individual and family shame. - Jan 2010
