What accommodations do schools make for special-needs kids?
Not a lot at ASD sadly. - Oct 2024
There are several schools I think that support special needs but again outside of level 1 autism or ADHD, I don't think ASD can support the kids. - Jun 2024
I have no experience with this but feel confident that kids with special needs may not be suited for ASD since they don't have the resources available. I have heard of some kids attending Compass and other kids attending ACS. I have not met a decent sample of homeschoolers, although I know there are a few within the expat community. - Oct 2023
Probably not a lot, but I'm not sure. - Jul 2022
Depends on the school. At ASD it should be fine, but other schools might not have the capacity. - Feb 2015
There are schools here for special needs. Look at the Compass School and ACS. - Apr 2012
Special needs kids are considered a curse. Enough said. - Mar 2012
ASD does not have a special-needs program, and that is the one weak point about them, I think. However, there are a number of schools in the city, including The Compass School, that can accommodate special needs. - Jan 2012
Qatar really takes care of special needs kids. There is the Learn Center which is a world-class institute dedicated to their needs in Education City. Most of the public places are also accessible to the disabled. - Jun 2011
Minimal accomodations. ASD has the right to refuse kids that present too much of a "challenge" to the staff. There's a huge wait list to get into ASD, so the administration is fine with turning kids away. Children must meet entrance exam requirements. - Dec 2009
