While Nicaragua is a conservative country, there is a visible LGBT community. There used to be an issue with the local country club not allowing LGBT members, but I don't think that is a problem anymore. - Apr 2018

There's a couple of gay clubs but generally no. I know some local gays that have moved to the U.S. and Costa Rica to live a more open life. - Mar 2008
