What are some interesting/fun things to do in the area? Can you recommend any “hidden gems"?
Some of our best trips were to the North, where the cost of everything is divided by a factor of at least five, particularly for food. We were able to charter a large motorboat for a day and take it up and down the coast. We chartered a sailboat from Latchi in the South as well, and that was an extraordinary day, but much more expensive. I would recommend signing up for a wine-tasting tour. Cypriot wine isn't anything to write home about, but it's a fun day, you get to see a few different wineries and see their processes and someone else does the driving. - Aug 2022
Hikers love the North because the trails are so beautiful. Try to see the turtles hatching on the beaches. - Aug 2022

In Nicosia, you can wander the streets of the old town (on both sides of the Green line), enjoy nice restaurants and sightsee at the Cyprus Museum. Outside Nicosia, you can visit the beaches, drive up to the mountains, and view the churches, monastaries and castles that dot the country. - Dec 2009
