Are credit cards widely accepted and safe to use locally? Are ATMs common and do you recommend using them? Are they safe to use?
There's only one or two ATMs that will withdraw from our account in the States, but it hasn't been a serious problem. Credit cards are accepted but there's always a surcharge. Cash is preferred, but don´t expect anyone to make change if you have a $100.00 peso bill. - Apr 2008
