Yes. It is a very livable place. For Americans: It will be difficult in the first few months. You will need to learn at least some German. You will miss steak, fried chicken, chicken wings, and peanut butter. It will get better. You will appreciate the breadth and affordability of public transit. You will find other English speakers. Be open minded, there is a lot to do here. - Aug 2013
