Are local buses, trams, trains or taxis safe and affordable?
When you call a taxi they record everything in a computer in case there is a problem. There are stories of people being kidnapped by taxi drivers, but I have never known this to happen to anyone after 4 years of living in Colombia. Buses in the city are safe, but I would absolutely not take a bus in the countryside. Both buses and taxis are affordable. - Sep 2007
