"Sex and the City 2" was supposed to be set in Abu Dhabi, but not a minute of it was filmed here, and it's kind of a local joke that the movie was all about how beautiful and traditional the place is. - May 2013

City of Life and Death is the first Emirati made movie. It is based in Dubai rather than Abu Dhabi but much of the story of the tension between family expectations and the easy life of fast cars and faster friends is as relevant in this emirate and the Emirati kids in the audience loved it! If you get a chance to see the Freej in English - cartoon Emirati grannies like a sort of Arab French and Saunders sketch show - do so! - Jul 2012

Not much - and be warned:"Sex and the City 2", while technically set in "Abu Dhabi", has nothing but nothing to do with life here (it was filmed in Morocco and is definitely a local sore point). - Aug 2011
