Buenos Aires - Post Report Question and Answers

Are qualified veterinarians and/or good kennel services available? Do animals need to be quarantined upon entry to the country? Are there other considerations regarding pets that are particular to this country?

Dogs are beloved in Argentina. People love household pets here, which is wonderful. Many people use a wonderful veterinarian named Leticia. She speaks impeccable English, is an excellent vet, and a fantastic person. She routinely makes house calls, which is very convenient. Importing our dog was easy and cheap. Health certificate was all that was needed. We flew back and forth with him several times, and we never had an issue. - Apr 2022

There are many people with pets here, but we do not have one. There are good vets and kennel services available. I'm not sure about the quarantine rules. - Jul 2019

I am not sure of quarantine but Argentina has more dogs than I have seen anywhere else. I have seen dogwalkers with as many as 20 dogs. There are a lot of vets and many even make house calls. - Jun 2015

They love pets here, especially dogs. There is a pet store and vet on every corner! - Aug 2014

No, but the customs process is a full day event. Very challenging, so be patient. - May 2011
