What is your home city/country? How long is the trip to post from there, with what connections? How easy/difficult is it to travel to this city/country?
Southern California. It was easier before the Ukraine/Russian war. Usually, we would fly to Europe (London) and then to the U.S. Once the war started, it added an addition 2-3 hours of flying time. Most people transit through Europe to get to the U.S. - Mar 2025

Washington, DC. Including stopover, it is a 20 hour trip. There are one stop flights on KLM, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. - Oct 2016
California. We haven't done it yet. But from DC, there was a connection in Frankfurt. Travel time is between 15 and 20 hours depending on layover. - Jun 2014
About 14 hours if going from Dulles-Frankfurt-Astana. All flights go through Frankfurt or Vienna. Most people prefer going through Frankfurt as the airport is better. - Sep 2010
