Is high-speed home Internet access available? How long does it typically take to install it after arrival?

Romania's internet is supposed to be among the fastest in Europe. My fiber optic connection is 2010 speeds. Speeds and quality vary by housing. The primary internet company we have to use is terrible with unreliable billing. I think we pay around $25 per month for unlimited internet (would happily pay more if it had modern internet speeds). Takes 2-3 weeks to get it working upon arrival. - Jun 2023

Romania's internet is among the fastest in Europe, and it's cheap. It took a few days to get an appointment and install. Easy. We pay our bill online using a U.S. credit card with no problem. I think we pay around $25US per month for unlimited internet. - Mar 2019

Yes, and the quality is good. - Jun 2018

YES: cheap too! We got cable/internet for about US$20-30/month. One caveat: we had a terrible time canceling our service/contact when our tour was over. They simply could not or would not let us cancel our contract. The company said I needed to return to the country and pay the final bill. and there was no other way around it. I lost a few marbles trying to sort this out. In the end, we left without resolving the issue. - Feb 2014

Available, but I don't know the cost. - Jan 2013

Yes. - Aug 2012

Yes; fairly expensive and unreliable. You certainly don't get the bandwidth you are promised, but... that's Romania. - May 2011

Our internet is unreliable and slow. I have heard similar complaints from others. On the positive side, it's inexpensive - about 25 $ USD per month. - Jul 2010

Yes, about $40 a month. There is an initial wait to get hooked up. You should probably try to sort this out as soon as you get here. - Dec 2009

No problem for about thirty bucks a month. Good connections. - Dec 2008

Readily available. - Feb 2008

Yes. It's reliable and relatively inexpensive. - Jan 2008
