Tel Aviv - Post Report Question and Answers
Do you recommend any books or movies about this city/country for those who are interested in learning more?
Fauda is a great show, although probably not the best for understanding how Israel works. There are plenty of books out there about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I would recommend reading one that doesn't take sides, but rather lays out the facts dating back to the first aliyah. - Jan 2022
The Seven Good Years by Etgar Keret Sababa (cookbook) by Adeena Sussman - Apr 2021
Exodus, Amos Oz, Fauda, Shtisel. - Oct 2019
You could fill entire bookstores with literature on Israel/Palestine. I really enjoyed A Tale of Love and Darkness, by Amos Oz. The Bubble (Ha-Buah) is an excellent movie set in Tel Aviv. - Nov 2018
Check out ynetnews.com as it's the best free Israeli news source on the internet. - Oct 2016
"The lover" by A. B. Yehoshua. Works of Bernard Lewis, such as "The Middle East: A Brief History of the Last 2,000 Years." and "1948: A History of the First Arab Israeli War" by Benny Morris. Take them all with a huge pinch (better yet, a bag) of salt; everyone's view is politically coloured. - Mar 2016
The Bible. It is pretty cool to read about Moutn Gilboa and realize that you can drive there in about 45 minutes or less. - Jul 2010
