Naples - Post Report Question and Answers

What typical restaurants, food delivery services, and/or takeout options are popular among expatriates?

Italian food is the best: from pizza to high-end gourmet cuisine, each area has its specialty. Take-out options are plentiful, and delivery works well, but mostly for lunch. Lots of food festival in and around Naples, too. Foreign food options are scarce, mostly Japanese (from worth to best) and kebab. - Oct 2018

If you like pizza and pasta you will be fine, it's everywhere and all the same. Craving anything else, not going to happen. This is a bit of a disappointment for us, literally no ethnic food of decent quality. Takeout exists but we have had 50% success, they showed twice, didn't twice. We've found Neapolitan pizza does not deliver well, it's so thin it's cold and soggy upon arrival. - Sep 2017

You're in Italy -- forget fast food! There is an abundance of wonderful restaurants, but eating out is much more expensive than in the States. And the great majority of restaurants do not open until 8:00 p.m., so if you have small kids, you won't be dining out much. The Italian cuisine is wonderful, but if you want some variety, you're out of luck. There are very few non-Italian restaurants. Got a hankering for Thai? Fugget it! - Jul 2009
