What is your housing like? What are typical housing sizes, locations, and commute times for expatriates?

Housing is mostly standalone houses with small yards and a wall around them. Commute time to downtown Tel Aviv is about 30-45 minutes. - Aug 2023


Leased housing, very nice and well maintained. Some people live in older government owned houses that are large but have constant maintenance issues. Many homes need to be rotated out of the housing pool. Some houses are gorgeous with pools. Luck of the draw. There are three main locations in Herzliya. 45 minute + commute to Tel Aviv during typical work hours. Bus is easy to use or EBO shuttle. - Mar 2022


Embassy housing in Herzliya is for families and can vary but standard is 3-4 bedroom 3.5 bath with a decent sized yard. Leased housing can range greatly. Communte to embassy during high traffic times; Personal Car: 30 - 45 minutes EBO Bus: 30 - 45 minutes Public Bus: 30 - 45 minutes Electric Bike: 30 minutes - Sep 2021


Singles and couples live in Tel Aviv or just outside in apartments, family are North of the city in houses. Quite a few are within walking distance to the beach. There is a shuttle bus that takes about 45-60 minutes to and from Tel Aviv. If you drive yourself, you can make it between 25 and 45 minutes, depending on the time of day. - Aug 2013


Families live in large homes approximately 20-30 minutes north of the embassy; couples without children and singles live in apartments in Tel Aviv. - Apr 2006
