Montevideo - Post Report Question and Answers

What is the overall climate: is it extremely hot or cold, wet or dry, at any time of year, for example?

There are seasons, but the winter is quite mild. Lots of a wind and some rain, but never too cold. The rest of the year is very nice (from what I have seen). In the summer the sun is very strong due to the hole in the ozone so you must wear sunscreen all the time. - Aug 2022

Mild with often strong winds. It is rarely below 50 F or above 85 F. - Nov 2021

Winter is cold and wet...very windy (Mayish to November). December to January is nice but it the gets super hot in February and March. The rain storms here are incredible...you can get lightning storms for 2 days straight! - Jul 2020

Four seasons, lots of wind coming off the River Plate throughout the year. The nice thing about the weather is that there is lots of sun, so even in the winter, there can be lovely days of blue skies. - Aug 2018

Montevideo has a nice, temperate climate. There are four seasons, but the winter isn't too cold and the summer isn't too hot. It can be quite humid for a lot of the year. Spring and Fall are lovely. Remember, though, that this is the Southern Hemisphere so the seasons are reversed if you're used to living up north. - Aug 2016
