Is this a "shopping post"? Are there interesting handicrafts, artwork, antiques, or other items that people typically buy there?
Not really. There's some local artwork, but a lot of what you find in the touristy areas is made in China. - Feb 2024
Yes and no. There are good tailors, but most of handcrafts are imported from Senegal. I would prioritize the experience of live music and download (and pay for!) music from your favorite Cabo Verdean artists. - Aug 2023

Not as much as compared with other posts. The main things we purchase for gifts include coffee, wine, simple woven textiles, and music. On other islands such as Sao Vicente (the cultural heart of Cabo Verde where Cesaria Evora is from) you can find artwork by famous artists and some unique handicrafts. - Oct 2016
