What do people who suffer from environmental or food allergies need to know?

If you have food allergies, I would not eat out here. If you are sensitive to air pollution you definitely do not want to live here. - Jan 2024


It's a dry environment, which can be bad for seasonal allergies. Without the language it can be hard to know what exactly is in your food - for example, vegetable soup almost always has meat in it... - Jan 2022


Actually you might be ok here if you have food allergies. There have been several vegans who have been able to thrive in this meat heavy society. You would want to be more careful eating out if you do not speak Mongolian, but in general you should be ok with most food allergies here. - Sep 2020


If you have asthma, I would reconsider coming here due to the air pollution in winter. My son has food sensitivities and I've been amazed at the variety of gluten-free products (though expensive) available here. There are many non-dairy milk alternatives as well. - Oct 2016


Hayfever is a problem in summer, given the grasslands, so come prepared. On food allergies nothing particular comes to mind. - Feb 2015
