Are there any unusual problems with insects or other infestations in housing?

There are very few insects. It’s too cold. Definitely none in the winter. Not sure I’ve ever seen a rodent in UB. - Jan 2024

Nothing to speak of in UB - none of the typical concerns of tropical countries like dengue or malaria. Cockroaches happily absent! Biggest problem would be gnats and mites in summer in forest and lake areas, so do bring some repellent for such trips. - Feb 2015
